Adding Networks to your bot

Your IMified developer account comes with a Jabber ID with a bot.im domain. You and your users can talk to your application over any XMPP network, including Google Talk. To talk to your bot over other networks like AIM, Yahoo, Twitter, or Windows Live, you need to connect an account from those networks to your IMified account.

First, you'll need to sign up for an account on the IM network you want to use. IMified can not create accounts on these third party providers for you. Simply go to the appropriate site and sign up. You're going to need to create an account specifically for your bot -- we do not recommend connecting an IMified application to an account you're already using for something else.

Once you've signed up, you'll need to give us the IM account name and password for each network you want to connect. For Windows Live, your IM account name is the entire email address (example@live.com, example@hotmail.com, etc). For Yahoo and AIM, use only the part before the @ sign.

Log into IMified and click on your bot's name. Under Additional Networks, enter the username and password for each network and click Activate.

For Twitter, there's no need to give us your username or password. Just make sure you're logged into your new Twitter account and click "Activate" and Twitter will ask if you're willing to give us permission to connect your bot.
