Hi everybody
I thought it would be good idea to make a suggestion for a bot for the coders to write.
I actually came across this math bot ( math@bot.im )
and quiet liked the idea...
i was thinking it would be really nice if somehow bots accessed some database and did some search like kinda thing.
say a bot that gets an abbreviation and returns the full word.
that would be quiet a light application i guess in larger scales,
integration into dictionary sites , etc would be awesome...
also, one other thing that I thought would get quiet popular would be to have access to a site like
http://www.cybernation.com/quotationcenter/quotesearch.php
for getting quotations easily....:D
now I know its not as easy as i imagine it to be...
but is it possible to do these kinda stuff with bots...?
and, if yes, does it take a lot of resources?
can someone give me some explanation in a bit of details to me?

Thanks in advance for your replies guys,
shahab

Yes, its very possible to build the type of applications you have described above. Its relatively easy as well. An IMified bot is basically a dynamic web page that outputs text without all the formatting. I would like to see Quote search bot as well. Anyone up for it?
