How to Buzz?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how to send a Buzz (in Yahoo messenger its ctrl+g) to the user? (by user I do not mean the bot. I mean the user who is contacting the bot.)

It might be useful to return a Buzz for when someone says something rude or offensive. And I believe it can help to make people use the bots appropriately.

Would appreciate a reply.

Thank you

    Hello Si,

At this time we do not have the ability to send a buzz from the API. If this is something that you believe will be really useful, I can open a feature request with the developers and see if it is something that we can integrate.

Let me know if it is something that you would like me to add to the engineering queue.

    Regards,

Thank you Danté for your reply.

I believe there can be many uses for Buzz.

    For instance:

    • As I said above, returning a buzz to prevent users abusing the bots.

    • Session control: If programmers require a certain time for a confirmation message, they can send a buzz to the user to be quick.(for example, user sends a command to the bot and the bot wants to take an action and replies (Are you sure that you want to do ... OR Please confirm your request by sending "yes" and cancel it by sending "no"). If the confirmation has to be sent within 2 minutes, the Bot can send a buzz after 1 minute to get the attention of the user).

Sending a buzz is not really necessary, but it is a desired feature. In my opinion, if the implementation is not hard for your engineers, it would be great to have it. Otherwise, it is better for the engineers to focus on more important features. Such as the actual IM bot on MSN which is not working or the update status on Yahoo.

It would be great if you could share a list of the engineering queue, so that users see the roadmap.

I have some features in mind that would help provide better imified experience and specially the API. Shall I share them in private?

    Thank you again

Thanks, we'll add it to the list of possible features to implement in IMified. Other feature suggestions you have are certainly welcome. Feel free to post them here.
