What does the connection on Twitter do?

Hi,

I have recently added twitter to my networks.
Can anyone please send me some link or explain how does it work?
I mean do someone has to send a message to my bot on twitter in order to receive a reply?
I do not know a bit of how it will work.

    For the most part it will work just as your IM bots work. Here is a link to
