Do you get an error message? Are you using the entire Gmail email
address as your username?

yes, i am using gmail username as for connection
Support Staff 5 Posted by Adam Kalsey on 12 Jan, 2010 11:07 PM
When you say you cannot connect, can you provide more details? Error
messages? Description of what happens when you try? Also, ensure
you're using the entire gmail email address as the username, not just
the username portion. For example, use "***@gmail.com" and not just
"mybot".

I have a maybe related question: I have a google account that I use regularly, launching from a bookmark on one machine. I found recently that I can't access it from any other machine - when I try to log in, I get an incorrect user name or password message. I tried resetting the password - now I can still log in from my original machine (without changing the stored password). I can also log in from another machine, but when I try to access my calendar, I get a message saying "Oops, another calendar exists for {my user name]. It appears that I now have 2 google accounts with the same user name and different passwords. I am confused and worried that if I lose this computer (or clear out my cookies??) I will lose access to my calendar, email, and documents. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question. Is this an IMified related
question or a google specific question?

This is google specific. I apologize if it was inappropriate to post here - I stumbled onto this site via general google search.

Is the question in reference to building a bot on our host4d platform or the
IMified bot's GCal widget?

I'm having the same google talk problem everyone else is having. When trying to connect to my account. I put in my credentials (full username ex: ***@gmail.com) and I get an error message "Connection attempt timed out. Please try activating again". I've tried it over and over again between yesterday and today.

I now get a different error message when trying to activate a Google Talk account.
Any ideas when this will get fixed?

We realize there are some issues with the Gtalk connection at this time and are looking into resolution. For the time being, I would suggest that you test with a @bot.im account which you can still add to a Gtalk list.

I would like to connect all my google accounts together. Since I first created an account, my email changed. My youtube and blogs are connected to my old email google account. I would like to bring them all together with my current email google account. How do I do that? Thanks.

@Billy Smith I don't believe this is an IMified specific question but nonetheless since we are dedicated to providing the best support, allow me to see if i can help you with your issue.
As I understand your problem, you have multiple Google accounts for different services and wish to bring them together to a single Google account.
For email, you can go to your account (http://gmail.com) and set it up so it pulls email from your other accounts meaning you only have one inbox to check while still having the ability to send from many Gmail accounts see the tutorial here:(http://tribeswell.com/managing-multiple-email-addresses-the-easy-wa...) . While of course another way is to simply notify the senders of your new address. Another option is to create a filter and forward all incoming mail from your "old accounts" to your "new account" but that leaves you without the ability to send mail easily from your alternate accounts.
For YouTube, This can depend so the best bet is to go to (http://www.youtube.com/account?feature=mhum#notifications/email) and see if it will let you change it.
For your Blog, see if it will let you change your email under your account settings. Many do not but it's worth checking out.
Finally something to look into is Google's Multiple Account Sign-In
you can see more info on that here: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2010/08/google-multiple-sign-in-no...

Thanks for your help. I realized after I posted that it was really the
wrong place to post, so I really appreciate you taking the time to help me
out. I think the problem is that I have 1 google account and 2 other work
email addresses that were given to me that are hosted via gmail, i.e., they
are not gmail addresses but I access them via gmail. I am sure there is an
easier way, but for now it is working to copy the url for each email inbox
and direct whatever machine I am on to that url ( I store the urls in a
Google doc). I then have to give my email log in info and can get in. I am
trying to keep the mail separate, more than just via different folders, as
one address is one that I share ( sort of an info@ type deal), so I didn't
want everything dumping into my gmail account. Anyway, your response
inspired me to take another shot at figuring it out and have at least one
solution, even if I don't entirely understand why/how it works.

FYI a plugin called "lastpass" might make the process easier as it manages your passwords and can autofill for you. also if you use chrome, you can sync your bookmarks across computers through "Preferences" -->"Personal Stuff".
